Reading Response #6
Book: Pill Head
Author: Joshua Lyon

This is a new book I have picked up recently , it fits in
perfectly with the type of book I like . This book is called Pill head. So far all I have read is the prologue , I have
found out that Joshua has been taking all types of drugs sense he was 17. My predictions
for this book is that Joshua will lose
everything he has ever earned and become useless to society. The reason I believe
this is because most book I read are like this the people who are the addicts usually
end up in rehab or die , or maybe even have one of their friends pass away on
them. The main drug he use's is call Vicodin, Oxycontin, and Percocet. All the drugs I just listed are pain killers . Joshua is about to suck me into this book !

A Piece Of Cake

From the last reading response I wrote Cupcake went missing , but this time when she returned home she was pregnant. I guess somewhere along the lines of her turning tricks for money she lost her birth control that Dian ( her old foster mother) gave her. You and I both know that a 13 year old girl does not have the body structure to support a child . Between getting taken to the hospital for alcohol poising she was proven to be pregnant. They returned Cupcake back to Dians . This leads to my first question . Why did Dian get the other foster children to beat the hell out of Cupcake when she was 6 months pregnant? Well I actually don't have a answer . Cupcake did nothing wrong in my eyes , but I guess Dian just didn't want any other problems . She never deserved any of this , not the beatings , not the starvation , nothing. This chapter all I did was cry . Cupcake lost her baby . She is out to get Dian , but not in the way that you might think.

A Piece Of Cake

Cupcake is out of control, she has ran away 6 times in total. Each time she was returned home , back to square one with her abusive foster family. During her runaways she has come really far. Cupcake has been hitch hiking her way to every big name place ,LA ,New York to every small town. To make money on her own Cupcake has been turning tricks (prostitution). One of the questions I have to ask my self is why did Mr.Bassinet give his 13 year old new foster child LSD? I guess some where alone the line he felt like she would tell someone that "cheerleading " was not real, Mr Bassinet was making cupcake do sexual pleasures. In return he was supplying her with all sorts of drugs, LSD,coke,and well of course alcohol . This man is one of the reason cupcake because a drug addict. This leads me to my next question.
Why did cupcake feel the need to drug her self up ? I believe that Cupcake did the to numb the pain , not only mentally but psychically as well. With being raped and beaten all the time im impressed that she is still alive. With all these new people around her just paying her for sex she must feel so worn down . Kids her age should be outside playing , but instead she is out there fending for her self.

Dear readers,
Durning the last few days I have continued to read A Piece Of Cake. From the last reading response , I have been asked a few questions. Personally I will take this response to answer a couple of the questions. The first question was, how did Cupcake get her name? A short while after giving birth to a chubby little baby girl , she looked down and the first thing she said was Cupcake . So that is what they wrote on her birth certificate. I better mention that her father hated that name ! Him and Cupcakes mother had decided on La'vette , that would be her new name. Shortly after he father and mother passed away she changed her name back , because that is what her mother would have wanted. I truly believe that this name suits her better than La'vette. She is sweet kind and caring. I like to think that each sprinkle on that Cupcake

Dear readers,
I have started reading A Piece Of Cake by Cupcake Brown. This amazing book has laid on my dusty old wooden floors for months. It never really crossed my mind about actually picking up the book. Well I'am extremely happy that I did. This book is full of hustling, drug dealing, gangbanging and whats a book with out a little scandalous prostitution to keep the book that much more interesting.
Durning the time that it takes me to read this book I will be taking notes about what my opinion is or if I have any questions. My first question to myself is, why did Cupcake not take Larry with her when she ran away from her abusive foster parents? I believe that she had done this to leave her less responsibility so that she could focus on her self. She most likely didn't know what was going to happen to her durning her fast decision to leave. At the end of the day I believe that she did the right thing by leaving Larry behind.
My very last question is why did Cupcake try to prostitute her self after she had been raped day after day but her foster brother? My first thought when i read this was why doesn't she get a real job? Well Cupcake is only 11 years old. Clearly she doesn't want to go back in to foster care , probably because she would get sent back to where she ran from in the first place. On the other hand she really had no choice. This was the only way that she thought she could survive on her own

RAMBLING AUTOBIOGRAPHY
I was young, just nine years old when my parents went there sepreat ways. Crushed at. A young age I became alone and depressed . I felt like I was nothing with out my mom and my dad together . Bullied till the age of 14 , I became strong . Molding myself from what other people thought about me was who i wanted to become. Most thought that i was a happy hyper girl with ADHD. Don't get me wrong I was all of those things,just emotionally damaged. These were things that I couldn't change , but the question is did I really want to?
